I John 3:1-12

Tags: ,

True followers of Christ strive toward a life of righteous living, not as a means to salvation or as a way to prove ones worth, but out of the knowledge and conviction that we are sons and daughters of the living God who saved us through Jesus and who has promised Christ’s second coming. John draws a clear line in the sand between those who perpetually walk in sin and those who live a life of righteousness. A dedication to God through righteous living is not a means to eternal life; it is a proof of it.

Thank you for an expository teaching on 1 John 3:1-12. I was attentive to the explanation and examples of this passage that helped clear some of my questions particularly in the verses about “sinning”. Thank you for all the Scripture references that help support the teaching. I walked away encouraged and blessed in knowing more about God and His Word.

Jason, I was so shocked to discover that I had never heard (or known) what the definition of prodigal is. Thanks for including it in your teaching.
