Although I am not a parent, I am a high school basketball coach, so indirectly I actually have 15 teenagers! Hearing your message has given me more tools and a renewed energy in working with “my boys”. Your lecture really opened my eyes on kids who are raised in a fear based family, hopefully I can use your tools and information to show these kids the grace they so richly deserve in their lives – even if its only for a few hours everyday, Gods message and grace only need a crack in the wall to make a difference!
      thanks again!

      Pastor Kimmel,

I have to say thank you so much and I wish more people would listen to this sermon. I needed to hear something like this. As a child I had little guidance from my parents everything I learned was mostly on my own and from others. Things were the same when it came to parenting; I became a parent at a very young age and three children later at the early age of 21 I became a single mother. Everything I have learned about parenting has been through trial and error. I have experienced a lot of anger and frustration in the process and I am afraid that I am passing it on to my children. Thankfully I am still young (26) and I am desperately trying to gain more knowledge and help to become a good mother to my children. My children are still very young as well, and I still have a chance raise graceful, God loving people. One question I have is being a single parent how do you balance discipline and love, how do I help my children feel they are secure, sufficient , and strong when they are missing such an important part in their lives (their father). Although I have a lot to learn, staying close to God through prayer has definitely gotten me through these tough years, and all of the knowledge I get from, parenting books, sermons, and talking to others has been a tremendous help.

Thanks Pastor, I will definitely look into attending the Wednesday classes and the conference November.
