The issue of “identity” has always been a universal human concern. Individuals function from a sense of identity (healthy or not), as do marriages, families, businesses, civic organizations, educational institutions and even societies as a whole. In short, identity is crucial in knowing who you are and what you should be about. Knowing one’s identity clearly helps solidify both being as well as doing. And it’s no different with God’s Church—His people! This message explores the God-infused identity of His people, the Church with such themes as forgiveness and following, God’s sovereignty in choosing, and our role as “aliens” in a place that is not our home.
